Rapids are a water tiles that when fished give you higher chances of catching large fish such as Pike, Burbot, Trout, Salmon, and Lavaret. Also swimming rapids takes more effort than in fresh water.
Rapids don't freeze in winter, so building a cabin on a shore with rapid water means easy cooking, tanning, fishing etc without breaking the ice first.
