Redlegger mushrooms are poisonous both raw and blanched.
They are also found alongside Tellervo's Gift mushrooms, which can be eaten after blanching. Since these two mushrooms look identical before harvesting, it is important that the player checks before eating.
Redleggers appear on suitable maps ten percent of the time. They can occur in groups of up to three mushrooms, with a maximum of ten mushrooms per local map.
